In our country recently, racism has been put in the spotlight due to numerous police officer related violence. In all honesty, it would be stupid to ignore the fact that this is a problem in our country. It is hard for me to handle that people still think less of other people based off things like race and religion in our culture. People are people. We are all the same. No matter what we look like, we are all the same in the grand scheme of our world. No man should be looked down upon based off of their race or anything. No one is less than another. I wish that this would be commonly felt by everyone. Although it may not be as prominent, it is still real and alive. Seen through issues like Ferguson and the numerous other police related violent acts. I don’t know if there is a solution to this though. The question remains on how to fix it. What can we do as people to help the cause? My thoughts are that it starts with yourself. Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if there is any part of you that feels this way? If you do, then go and fix it. You can’t fight hate with hate. You will just end up with more hate. Fight hate with just a little bit of love. If every person pursued loving people. Hate would be overthrown. Love with a cause. Love with the idea that your love is helping cause the problem little by little. Think of a world where everyone decided to love. Everyone little by little would turn into a larger portion of the problem being fixed. Eventually, the problem would be gone. I want to live in a world like that.
