Did Hitler know the Four-Fold Doctrine?

Posted in Forum Post

“I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.” –Adolf Hitler

As the powerful and intelligent Adolf Hitler wrote these words in Mien Kampf, he continued executing masses of Jews. What makes Hitler wrong? How could a murderer believe he was carrying out the will of God? Cultural artifacts such as Mein Kampf demonstrate the beliefs behind massive historical events. Christianity influenced Hitler tremendously. In actuality, Hitler’s God is the God of the Bible. Supported by millions who called themselves Christians, Hitler was the leading force behind the tragic Holocaust.

During World War II, it was Hitler’s theology that shaped German society. Furthermore, the idea of a purely German society formed Hitler’s theology. This thought of having one pure race under God was the cause for the Nazi’s actions. Longstanding ideas of anti-Semitism spread to affect childrearing, politics, churches, and everyday interactions. While Hitler sought to follow God and protect his people, he missed a very important aspect of creation. A person’s flawed view of creation can echo throughout their lives and cause them to misinterpret the Bible and dishonor God even when they intend to honor him.

Genesis 1:27 declares, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” The beauty of Christianity is scattered across the Bible. This passage ensures Christians that each living human was created in God’s image. With that said, believers are free to love and serve each other. No person is worse than the other. It is amazing that God gives His people this assurance. Hitler seemed to believe that Jews were not created in God’s image. He believed that they tarnished their relationship with God and deserved extinction. Nothing can separate a person from their identity in Christ. Romans 8:38 says, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” So Christians, rejoice! You are a child of God no matter what. Adolf Hitler believed in God and in himself, but tossed aside simple doctrines. God documented His creation process for a reason. We can learn His will though His word and strive to achieve it.
